Local Turkey Drive

The holiday season is often a time of joy and celebration for many, but for others, the struggle to maintain basic necessities weighs heavily. During this time, The Gallery Walk partnered with AccessMA to document their efforts in supporting the community. The goal was to serve hot meals and distribute as many turkeys as possible to families in need. Thanks to the generosity of Tropical Foods in Roxbury, MA, over 300 turkeys were donated, helping to make the holidays a little brighter for those facing hardships.

Throughout the day, volunteers distributed turkeys at three key locations: The New Academy Homes in Roxbury, The Sarah Greenwood School, and Franklin Field in Dorchester, MA, ensuring that families across multiple neighborhoods received support.

Community Car Wash

On a sweltering summer day, the kids of St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Roxbury took to the streets to host a lively community car wash. While the sound of water splashing and laughter echoed through the air, the event served a deeper purpose—engaging local youth in hands-on community service.

The photos captured throughout the day perfectly showcase the energy and enthusiasm of the children as they worked together to clean cars, turning a simple task into a memorable experience. While the kids definitely had fun spraying each other with water, the true impact of the event was their dedication to giving back to the community. They rolled up their sleeves, worked hard, and made a meaningful contribution to a cause bigger than themselves.

This event wasn’t just about washing cars—it was about fostering a sense of responsibility, unity, and pride in the next generation. The smiles, laughter, and hard work demonstrated that when kids are encouraged to engage in community service, they not only help make their neighborhood a better place but also grow in the process.
